Background: Amethyst Women's Project seeks a dynamic, dedicated HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing Specialist.
Amethyst Women Project is a fast-growing nonprofit organization founded in 1999 to serve low-income women and their children in Brooklyn's Coney Island community, with programs addressing HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, domestic violence and various related social, medical and legal issues. Education, HIV prevention, counseling, testing and referrals services are provided to women at high risk, including sex workers, women out of prison, and homeless women. Amethyst currently has a staff of five and is funded by government, foundation and corporate grants, as well as individual supporters and volunteers. They seek an HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing Specialist to work on-site and in the field conducting HIV testing, counseling and referral services.
