Wallabout Historic District Approved by City Council

On September 21, 2011, the New York City Council approved the Wallabout Historic District. Wallabout had previously been designated a historic district by the State Board for Historic Preservation and NYC Landmarks Preservation Committee (LPC) earlier this year.

With the return of the fall session, the City Council’s Land Use Committee considered the landmark designation of Wallabout Historic District at a hearing on September 19, 2011; and the LPC application was approved during yesterday’s Council Stated.

Please contact the Office of Council Member Letitia James at (212) 788-7081 with any questions.
