Panamanian Independence Reception Ceremony

On October 10, 2008, the Office of Council Member Letitia James hosted a reception ceremony for the 13th Anniversary of Panama’s Independence Day Parade at City Hall. Attendees included distinguished members of the City Council of Panama City; Javier Ortega, President of the City Council of Panama City; the Honorable Juan Carlos Navarro, Mayor of Panama City; the distinguished Dr. Marco A. Mason; and the Day of Independence Committee of Panamanians in New York, Inc., the organization that co-sponsored the event.

Attendees were treated to music performed by La Banda Apocalipsis Concert Band, and Tish was rewarded with plaques from the Consejo Municipal de Panama, the Day of Independence Committee of Panamanians in New York, Inc., and the First Panamanian Drum & Bugle Corp for her strong advocacy for, and support of, the Panamanian community and Panamanian causes.

The City Council of Panama City awarded members of the New York City Council with official proclamations, and Panama City Council Members were given proclamations of behalf of Council Member James.
