The Seven Roses Legacy Foundation Scholarship is now available. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves as the charitable arm of the Eta Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The mission of the organization is to serve the Brooklyn and Queens communities in New York City by empowering youth to expand their cultural and social horizons, improve their financial literacy, and pursue higher education opportunities. The foundation primarily serves students who live in economically-challenged neighborhoods within Brooklyn and Queens.
Each yeah, the foundation awards three book scholarships in the amount of $500, $750, $1,000 to graduating high school seniors throughout Brooklyn and Queens who attend public and private schools, and who will enroll in a community college, four-year college/university, or trade school. The book scholarships are primarily based on writing an essay (although there is an accompanying application). Please see this link for more information (the application can be found here).
