This seems unfair. I participated in a lot of community board meetings and workshops sponsored by DOT to select station locations. I commented on the DOT website. I thought some stations were in good spots, some in bad.
So now a bunch of people who didn't participated put up a big stink and you have a hearing about it? Is that the lesson? Don't participate, don't get involved... just wait and complain to your council member?
No one consulted me when they put in all this car parking. Can we hold a hearing about that?
I'm actually serious about this. When will the car parking hearing be held? The majority of people in Fort Greene do not own cars! So when can we discuss it?
Thanks for your comment. We received similar comments from those who support Citi Bike before the event took place, many of which seemed misinformed about the nature of the meeting and CM James' position on the program. We hope you walked away understanding that the session was informational and an opportunity to hear what residents thought about the program. We are happy that so many passionate cyclists participated in workshops around the Citi Bike program. Our office hosts many similar meetings throughout the year on various issues.
